Wicked Lovely Series by Melissa Marr

This is one of my absolute favorite series and it inspired me to write my own series about one of my favorite trends!

Rule #3: Don't stare at invisible faeries.Aislinn has always seen faeries. Powerful and dangerous, they walk hidden in the mortal world. Aislinn fears their cruelty - especially if they learn of her Sight - and wishes she were as blind to their presence as other teens.

Rule #2: Don't speak to invisible faeries. Now faeries are stalking her. One of them, Keenan, who is equal parts terrifying and alluring, is trying to talk to her, asking questions Aislinn is afraid to answer.

Rule #1: Don't ever attract their attention. But it's too late. Keenan is the Summer King, who has sought his queen for nine centuries. Without her, summer itself will perish. He is determined that Aislinn will become the Summer Queen at any cost — regardless of her plans or desires.Suddenly none of the rules that have kept Aislinn safe are working anymore, and everything is on the line: her freedom; her best friend, Seth; her life; everything.

This is one of my favorite novel series about fairies. I loved the concept of it, it was dark, and had romance. I'll admit the for the first half of the book it takes a while to get into the story because it was a bit dull, but when you get to book two, all the action and adventure begins to unravel! I could not put them down as I continued to read through the entire series! It's so full of excitement! This series also inspired me to write my own book series about fairies (not that I'm sure it will ever see the light of day in a bookstore, but who knows) I really enjoyed this series, for those who have said you're tired of reading about fairies, I am telling you should give this series a shot before turning it down. It's an awesome series. If you want to read something paranormal, besides the strong romantic element that is floating about now and days, this is the series for you.

Next on the Reading List
